Information and Announcements

Update: May 20, 2003:

I have several new images appearing in the "Waterscapes" and "Reflections" galleries, a beautiful early-morning scene from Hillsborough River, a stunning waterfall, pool and garden from Rainbow Springs, and two new waterfall scenes from North Carolina and Virginia.

I am pleased to announce that all my new prints are produced on the Epson Stylus Pro 7600, featuring 7 pigmented UltraChrome inks. Used with care for proper image file preparation and proper materials and color profiling, I find these prints to be virtually indistinguishable in gamut from the finest photo-quality inkjet reproduction, yet they have superior gradations of light and color, superior sharpness and detail, simply the most accurate color balance I've ever seen in a digital print, plus vastly superior resistance to fading - up to 100 years behind glass under normal lighting. The overall quality is, in my opinion, easily superior to other digital printing technologies.

Additionally, I have made a number of prints on Fine Art Matte papers (smooth and textured) with Epson's "Matte Black" ink option, and the results are simply stunning, and very beautiful in a way that is hard to visualize until you see such a print with your own eyes. The anti-glare properties of this kind of print make it particularly easy to place in difficult lighting, and has a very sophisticated appearance. It is more expensive to produce prints using these materials, but worth it, in my opinion.

Images printed on Canvas are also now available. These have the finish appearance of an oil-on-canvas painting, but with the fine detail of the photographic image.

Update: August 10, 2002

I will try to keep information relevant to this site updated here. Upcoming galleries, new additions to existing galleries, and special offers will be posted here.

Two new gallery additions are planned at the moment: a "People" gallery and a "Places" gallery. I currently have links to these pages, but no galleries are up as of yet.

The "People" gallery will be a collection of casual photos I've taken of family, friends and associates over the past couple of years. The total body of work from which this gallery will currently be derived is very, very small, so I expect this gallery to expand significantly in the coming months. These images will not be for sale, but will be used solely to demonstrate my photographic style.

The "Places" gallery will include scenes from a number of places I've visited, including Singapore, Dominican Republic, China, and various points of interest within the United States, with an emphasis on scenes of historic or cultural significance.

Someday in the not-too-distant future I hope to have a "Landscapes" gallery. As you can readily see, I have a major attraction to watery "landscapes", and I believe these deserve their own classification, hence the "Waterscapes" gallery. Even though I shoot them in a "landscape" style, and use "landscape" equipment to shoot them, I can't properly call them "landscapes"! I love the scenes from the western part of the U.S., namely from the Rocky Mountains and westward. I have a great and abiding love for regions in Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, California and other beautiful places in this great land. Hopefully I will have an opportunity to travel back that way soon, and make suitable photographs to memorialize some of these scenes.

The "Other" gallery will allow me to link to images which defy simple classification. I'll announce these new galleries and images as they occur.
